Introduction

The Preventive Maintenance and Operations Management in Infrastructure course is designed to provide professionals involved in the management, maintenance, and operation of infrastructure with the knowledge and tools to develop effective preventive maintenance strategies. As infrastructure assets such as roads, bridges, utilities, and buildings require ongoing upkeep, it is essential to implement systematic maintenance and management practices that ensure longevity, safety, and efficiency. This five-day course will focus on the principles of preventive maintenance, operations management, and asset management, along with the tools and techniques needed to minimize downtime, reduce repair costs, and maximize infrastructure performance. Participants will learn how to create effective maintenance plans, integrate technological solutions, and optimize the operational performance of critical infrastructure.

Course Objectives

By the end of this five-day course, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand Preventive Maintenance Concepts: Gain a comprehensive understanding of preventive maintenance and its role in maintaining infrastructure assets.
  2. Develop Preventive Maintenance Plans: Learn how to create and implement preventive maintenance schedules for different types of infrastructure.
  3. Optimize Operations Management: Understand key principles and practices of operations management as applied to infrastructure systems.
  4. Integrate Technology in Maintenance: Learn about the role of technology in improving maintenance efficiency, such as using automated systems, predictive maintenance, and asset management software.
  5. Implement Asset Management Strategies: Develop strategies to track, manage, and optimize the performance and lifespan of infrastructure assets.
  6. Assess Infrastructure Performance: Learn how to assess the condition and performance of infrastructure, conduct inspections, and implement corrective actions.
  7. Ensure Compliance and Safety: Understand the safety and regulatory standards related to infrastructure maintenance and operations.
